Experience one of Australia’s best whale watching destinations on this unforgettable cruise along the Humpback Highway. Each year, more than 40,000 whales migrate along the Humpback Highway off Port Stephens, giving you the chance to witness these gentle giants breaching, tail slapping and cruising close to the boat. Keep your eyes peeled for bonus wildlife encounters—you may spot pods of dolphins or Australian fur seals along the way.

Accommodation
Nearby Construction. Please note that a construction project is currently underway near our hotel. To date, guest impact has been minimal, and we are working diligently to minimise any potential disruptions. Construction noise is limited to Monday- Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, ensuring quiet mornings and peaceful evenings for our guests.

Join Moonshadow TQC onboard our 2.5hr Whale Watching cruise venturing out to the ‘Humpback Highway’ during the Whale migration between May-November. Onboard the Hinchinbrook Explorer or the MV Osprey, you will have amazing viewing opportunities to see our Whales.

Join Moonshadow TQC onboard our 1.5hr Dolphin Discovery Cruise, as we venture out onto the waters of Port Stephens in search of our resident Bottlenose Dolphins. Listen to live captain’s commentary as we cruise around the Eastern harbour of Port Stephens, with views of our spectacular Tomaree & Yacaaba headlands. After finding our Dolphins, get into your swim gear and enjoy the thrill of boom netting under the supervision of one of our friendly crew.

This cruise offers an exceptional opportunity for guests to witness the playful and intelligent nature of dolphins. Additionally, guests can enjoy the thrill of a boom-netting ride. Throughout the cruise, knowledgeable and entertaining commentary is provided, enhancing the overall experience for guests. The cruise also offers a picturesque view of the harbour, including the awe-inspiring Tomaree and Yacaaba headlands, a truly memorable and scenic journey.
